I read the reviews for the book and saw a recommendation for it so I ordered it for my teen daughter. When it arrived I didn't give it to her right away and my husband picked it up and skimmed through it and was quite concerned with what he saw. Honestly, I thought my daughter would show a little interest in it and we'd end up reading it together. Well, after about a week I handed it to her one morning and explained that it was written for her age group and that she could read it or we could read it together and discuss anything in it. I warned her that there was some language that her dad saw and was offended by but to try to see what the message was not the way it was said. Well, to my surprise later that day when I arrived home she excitedly greeted me with the book in hand to tell me that she read the entire book and absolutely loved it. We spent the next hour and a half going over the things she read. She had some questions which we discussed. But she really got a lot from it. Especially her sense of self-worth and to be possessive about her own body. She ear-marked pages and passages she liked and highlighted quotes. With this book as a reference guide and her reaction to it, I'm a little more assured she'll be making the right decisions when she enters the dating years.

A lot of this book, for me, didn't need to be said—but, admittedly, I am probably a little older than the intended age group for this book. Do I wish I'd had this book aged, 13, 14, 15? Yes! It's easy to read but without talking down to its audience; it's informative but without being tedious. It's fun, and empowering, and should be on every teenager's bookshelf.

Great book. I read it in just two days. Then i bought a copy for my 15 year old sister. Yes there is some foul language but this book is so real and should be given to all teenage girls!
