Wolfsbane Andrea Cremer Books
With Nightshade Andrea enticed me with her beautiful world building, made me fall in love with her in-depth characters and had me clinging to each page either from the heart pounding action or the hot character chemistry that just melted off the pages. In Wolfsbane Andrea gave me the back bone to the series's story. With her richly detailed history of the Guardians, Searchers and Keepers, she uncovers some of the twists and unanswered questions I had with Nightshade. She introduces some fabulous new characters, surprised me with character growth and changes with some of my favorite characters and continues to throw in some exciting twists and a few sizzling scenes.Calla surprised me with how much she has changed, which after all she's gone through shouldn't be so shocking. She is after all still an alpha and though she's more determined and logical in her plan of action this time, she's a bit more timid. I really liked getting to meet the Searchers, and getting to learn about their history. Some of my favorites are Monroe and wow does he deliver a few shocking twists, and Connor who brings the right amount of humor to the story line. Shay is the character who grew and surprised me the most. For the record I am a huge Ren fan, okay more than huge. Even though I understood Calla's decision at the end of Nightshade, that didn't stop me from yelling out loud at her. It's not that I don't like Shay, it's just Ren's the one who stole my heart first. Though Ren isn't physically in the story nearly as much as I was hoping, he's presence is still there. With Wolfsbane I was really surprised with how much ended up like Shay. With the way he grew into an Alpha character I felt like I was finally able to see him the way Calla has seen him all along. The two characters who discuss the Ren & Shay choice with Calla on page 368-369 said it perfectly. Like them, I finally find myself more accepting of who Calla may end up choosing.
One of the things I admire the most with Andrea's writing is the importance of every detail, big or small within the story and how her book is laid out. For example, Wolfsbane is divided into parts, Dante's Purgatorio, Inferno and Paradiso, and each of those titles has meaning for what takes place during that part of the story. Another thing I love about Andrea's writing is the way she uses nature/the outdoors for her setting, and the important role this plays in her series. With Wolfsbane she's integrates this with the important role of the four elements, earth, air, fire and water with each of the Searcher groups Haldis, Tordis, Pyralis and Eydis. I love how she's able to bring these elements together and incorporate her own unique paranormal mythology and magic into her series. It's one of things that I makes her series stand out the most for me.
Wolfsbane is a thrilling sequel with heartbreak, love, betrayal, and so much more. There are so many things I'd love to gush about with this book and the series. It's not just the action, the romance, the unforgettable characters and the strong emotional connection I felt with each of them that draws me to this series, it's the history, the complex setting, and the engaging mythology that lore me in. For me, this series and each book is a complete package with everything I love in a book. Nightshade is the story that hooked me and left me wanting more, and Wolfbane is the story that gives me more answers, complicates things and leaves me wishing I already had Bloodrose in my hands. I highly recommend picking Nightshade if you haven't already and picking up Wolfsbane when it's released one week from TODAY!

Wolfsbane Andrea Cremer Books Reviews
I am honestly really disappointed with this book. The first book in the Nightshade trilogy was pretty good and very similar to Blood and Chocolate by Annette Curtis Klause which is great. This book picks up pretty much right where Nightshade left off and honestly this book didn't need to happen. Way too much of this book is wasted on bad dialogue and trying to make the audience like the Searcher characters that just I just never liked as easily as the characters from the first book. The wolves were barely in this book and as I said it was just too much sitting around one place with bad dialogue sessions. Too many new characters were introduced at once and the story tried too hard to make you care about them but I honestly never did.
To me this book was filler and only 30% of this book was needed it could have easily been added to Bloodrose the third novel. Calla who was the strong but yes confused heroine in Nightshade was just to flat and weak in this book a little too Bella Swan for my taste and I just didn't care about her anymore. Still I finished it and moved on to the next one hoping it wouldn't be more filler to a story that had good potential. After reading this one I'll finish the triology but I doubt I'll read Cremer's next series.
Wolfsbane is the follow-up book to Nightshade by Andrea Cremer. I couldn't wait to get my hand on this book, because if you read Nightshade, you know that we were left on a bit of a cliff. This book picks up on that cliff.
Calla awakens to find out that life as she knew it is over, and that everything she had ever thought was right was really wrong, that she has been lied to her entire life. The rules have changed and she has been on the wrong side the whole time. This is a big shock, and it takes awhile to sink in, but the first task is to rescue her pack and Ren.
Of course Shay is not all that happy about the Ren part, but he is for recusing all the others, and then Shay finds out all the things that he is going to have to do and what he has to be and it is a whirlwind.
When Calla returns to Vail with the Searchers to rescue the pack, you find some of the horrible things that happened the night her and Shay escaped. You also find out who is still loyal to Calla and the Nightshade and who has flipped over to the Banes.
This book is full of discovery, and fighting, and finding out who really is in your corner when it all comes down to it. I don't know what it is about the way it is written, but something pulls at me, and I just want to jump into the story and be friends with Ren and Calla and Shay.
This is so well written and the story flows so well that you will sit down to start reading and the next thing you know the book will be done. It is a great read. Again, since the main characters are 17-18 years old, it's marked young adult, but I think it is good for anyone. I even passed the series on to my 14 year old son, only because of the shape-shifters though but he is enjoying it
